LEGOLAND Florida plans to ring in the New Year in quite a unique way. At 6 PM EST (midnight KST or Kid Standard Time according to the park), LEGOLAND Florida will ring in the New Year with a Brick drop, akin to the ball drop that will take place a few hours later in New York City. LEGOLAND Florida, the worlds largest LEGOLAND park and the second one to open in North America after LEGOLAND California. Located in Winter Haven, Florida, the park was formerly home to Cypress Gardens.

New Pictures Provide A Glimpse of The LEGO 2013 Castle Lineup
LEGO Castle had a very quiet 2012 but there are plans for it to return in August 2013. New pictures of the upcoming LEGO Castle Legends sets have now appeared and offer a taste of what the lineup includes. Castle Legends features knights and dragons, much like what the Castle theme has offered in the past. Castle Legends sets slated for a August 2013 release include:
- 70400 – Forest Ambush
- 70401 – Gold Getaway
- 70402 – The Gatehouse Raid
- 70403 – Dragon Mountain
- 70404 – Kings Castle
More details on the sets as well as higher quality pictures are likely to be available as the release date approaches.

Flight Dunny To Be Released Early Next Year
New York and Los Angeles based artist kaNO will see his aviation inspired Flight Dunny released on Janaury 17th via kidrobot stores. The Flight Dunny draws inspiration from the Transformers and specifically seems to sport the color scheme of Starscream. Limited to an edition of 3000, the figure will carry a price tag of $15.

Charizard To Get Its Very Own D-Arts Figure
The D-Arts label has taken quiet strongly to Pokemon with the announcement of Mewtwo figure, which is set to be released in March, 2013, while April, 2013 will see a follow up release,the D-Arts Charizard figure. Standing nearly six inches tall, the Charizard features its characteristic flame on its tail as well as an addition flame to showcase the Pokemon’s ability to breath fire. Much like other D-Arts figures, Charizard features an impressive amount of detail and a multiple points of articulation. With a price of ¥3,990, or about $45, Charizard is perhaps best known for gracing the cover of hit video game, Pokemon Red.

LEGO City Starter Set Due Out in 2013
What better way to start a LEGO city than with a starter set? Starting June, 2013 a new LEGO City Starter Set will make this quite possible. Slated for a June release the set includes a fire truck, an ambulance as well as a police motorcycle, essentially, all the emergency services you could want, in one box. The Summer of 2013 will also see some LEGO City sets going in a sporty direction with the likes of a Grand Prix Truck and a Monster Truck Transporter. Expect both of those sets out this upcoming June.

New LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship and Jabba’s Sail Barge in 2013
The Summer of 2013 is slated to see the re-release of two LEGO Star Wars sets, The Republic Gunship and Jabba’s Sail Barge. The 75021 would be the third Minifigure scale republic gunship to be released after 7163 which was released in 2002 and 7676 which was released in 2008. 75020 would be the second time Jabba’s Sail Barge is being released after the original one, 6210, which came out in 2006. Expect both sets out in June, 2013.

Movie Theatre To Be Latest LEGO Modular Building
LEGO Main Streets around the world featuring modular buildings will now play host to a cinema thanks to the upcoming Palace Cinema set. Part of the Creator Expert line, Palace Cinema appears to share the attention to detail seen in other modular building sets as well as the aesthetic of the line. While details regarding the set are still sparse, in terms of piece count and price point, it should be similar to previously released modular building sets.

LEGO The Lord Of The Rings Summer 2013 Set Images Leaked
Set images, taken from what seems like a retailers catalog, of the Summer 2013 LEGO The Lord Of The Rings have leaked out on to the internet. Four new sets are slated for a June 2013 release. The set lineup (with their respective minifigures) include:
- 79005 – The Wizard Battle: Gandalf the Grey and Saruman Minifigs
- 79006 – The Council of Elrond: Elrond, Frodo, Arwen and Gimli
- 79007 – Battle at the Black Gate: Gandalf the White, Aragorn, The Witch King of Angmar & 2 x Morder Orc
- 79008 – Pirate Ship Ambush: Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, King of Dead, 2 x Soldiers of Dead, 2 x Mordor Orc and 2 x Corsair Pirate
Since the pictures are only preliminary, it is possible prior to their release in the summer of 2013, that the sets may change somewhat. New details about the 2013 LEGO The Lord of the Rings lineup should emerge in the coming weeks and months and possibly specify details such as price and piece count.
